Now that you've taken our little quiz, we will give you the answers in our explanation of climate, climate changes, global warming, and how to save our Earth. If we do not do something about the alarming global climate changes our Earth will be very different in the future. Here is a link to an app, made by the Florida International University that shows what is likely to happen to Florida if we do not take action against global climate changes. What is Climate, Climate Change and Global Warming To start with, you should know what the problem is. Climate is the temperature change over a period of time in a certain area. Climate change describes the changes in climate. The climate is changing because ever since the Industrial Revolution, humans have been using fossil fuels to power their daily life. For instance, fossils fuels power things such as airplanes, cars, electricity, buses, and much more. Burning these fossil fuels create greenhouses gases like methane and a lot of carbon dioxide. These gases are being held inside the Earth’s atmosphere because a limited amount of them are needed to make sure we wouldn’t freeze to death during the night. However, since there are so much of these gases inside our atmosphere, they keep too much of the heat inside and this causes the climate to increase, or causes climate changes. This is caused by the extreme climate changes happening in our Earth. Global warming is mostly caused by the carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases collected in our atmosphere. These gases are called greenhouse gases, which are called greenhouse gases because they keep the heat of our Earth normal. But, because of humans burning fossil fuels, the carbon dioxide and the methane in the air is increasing the temperature causing polar ice caps melt, the amount of water on earth to increase. |
